Sony LAM-Z03 NetMD
Yay - I got a new toy this past weekend!
Sony LAM-Z03 (NetMD) MiniDisc Recorder:
This thing is pretty cool - it connects to a PC using USB2.0, and you can transfer your MP3s to it VERY quickly - it can record a 160 minute MiniDisc in about 5-10 mintues - really fast!!
It has hidden CD/MD loading slots - you touch the "eject" buttons (touch, not press - they're touch sensitive!), and the entire front of the unit automatically slides to the left (for MD) or to the right (CD) to reveal a hidden loading slot - very cool!
Although the clown at the electronics store told me otherwise (as usual), this unit works fine with English WindowsXP - I simply downloaded an English version of the management software (SonicStage 2.0) from Sony's website, and it worked perfectly. Moral of the story? Basically, don't listen to the asshats at Japanese electronics stores. lol Anyway, if any of you are interested in an easy way to transfer your CDs/MP3s to MiniDisc, this is a great solution. It's fast, easy, and looks pretty cool. A *much better than expected* purchase.
